These courses are for Paralegals who are employed to work under supervision of qualified lawyers as assistants within the legal sector throughout the provinces. They can specialise in one area of law and so it is not necessary to complete an extended law syllabus. On completion of our courses, they will be able to work under supervision either in private law firms or other public legal sectors. All our courses are of National Competency Standards set for the provinces. Paralegals will learn Principles of Canadian Law comprising 5 core subjects plus practical skills required by barrister solicitors in preparing and making court applications, proofreading, interviewing skills, legal writing skills and much more as outlined in our Course Syllabus.
• Paralegals are not qualified lawyers and they work under supervision of barrister solicitors. They do not require the same level of competency as barrister solicitors.
• Entry level salary can start at $53,000.00 per annum according to some pay scale monitors. More experienced paralegals can expect more.
• Our courses qualify you from Introduction to Advanced level.
• Paralegals are employed in a number of roles such as Junior Paralegals, Assistant Paralegals or at Senior levels.
• The level of Senior Paralegal can be achieved with previous work experience or qualification with Module 4.
• Paralegals’ importance within the work place is growing rapidly. They supplement the work of barrister solicitors bringing more affordable legal services to members of the public.
• Our courses are for Paralegals working under lawyer’s supervision.
